JGS-THE ISC TREASURE

 The session for the ISC Faculty at Johnson Grammar School, ISC came to an end on a happy note. The Principal along with the Coordinator organized games and activities which highlighted the importance of Team Work. It felt like the staff were reliving their childhood days playing games and singing songs.

World Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd every year, serving as a global reminder of the importance of environmental protection and sustainability. The theme of this year 2023 is 'Invest in Our Planet'. It serves as a call of  action for everyone to come together and make a positive impact on our planet's health. On this occasion the students of ISC took a pledge on Protecting the Earth, made a poster  and answered a questionnaire on 'Know your Planet 'on 21st April 2023.  

  A space filled with numbers, formulae, puzzles ,questions and a lot more! A place that will help you think, plan and execute. Welcome to the Mathematics Corner, a new initiative by the Department of Mathematics, ISC.

Celebrations rang in early for the students of ISC at Johnson Grammar School . A special assembly was conducted today to celebrate the festival of Eid. Students also remembered the great polymath and Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion of his birth anniversary which falls on May 7th. They also observed 'World Earth Day' which falls on 22nd April and took a pledge to safeguard the planet. Students of Grade XII were awarded certificates of appreciation in the assembly for their active participation and contribution towards the Newsletter for the month of March and for choreographing dance sequences for various events that were held at school on the occasion of Ugadi.  

 Students of Grade XI from the Commerce stream are introduced to the scope and importance of the subject in an interactive method where all of them were given an activity to perform . The teacher gave them tips and guidelines which they used to put forth their understanding of the subject in the form of mind maps. The students did not stick to the conventional pattern of mind mapping but used their own ideas and thoughts for their better understanding.

Math Corner is a vibrant and interactive space where students  can explore the beauty and complexity of mathematics. Math Corner features colorful displays of geometric shapes, charts, and graphs that spark curiosity and promote mathematical thinking. Equipped with hands-on brain teasers , concept maps, articles,  techniques to improve logical skills and puzzles. Skilled math educators are on hand to facilitate learning, providing guidance and support as students delve into mathematical concepts through hands-on exploration and collaborative problem-solving. Math Corner ignites a passion for math, nurturing a love for numbers, patterns, and problem-solving skills that can last a lifetime.  

Students of Grade XI share their experiences of their first week at  Johnson Grammar School ISC.

The first Parent teacher meet was conducted for Grade XII students on April 15th,2023. It was a great opportunity for the teachers to interact with the parents and discuss both areas where the student excels and also where improvement is needed. The PTM concluded on a positive note where all the parents who attended the session were happy and satisfied with the feedback given  

Mental Health is an important criteria to measure the well being of a person . A session on Mental Health Awareness was conducted for the students of Grade 11 by the Counsellor at Johnson Grammar School.  They were told the importance of Mental well being and were given tips on how to strengthen oneself emotionally. The students were also given guidance about counselling sessions and how and when  to approach the Counsellor.  

 The day most awaited had finally arrived April 15th 2023. The day when the English Language Lab and the Art Studio was going to be inaugurated. It was done on a very grand scale and was inaugurated by the the ICSE Principal. It was extremely encouraging both for the students and staff to see the kind of appreciation and support  received from the dignitaries and parents who graced the occasion. We hope to create learning opportunities which would help the students enhance and memories that they would cherish for life in this space which they would call their own.

 The  Inauguration of the English Lab and Art Studio is something everyone are eagerly waiting for. Saturday 15th April is a day students and staff at the ISC are eagerly awaiting.

  The career guidance cell at Johnson Grammar School ISC works towards creating holistic career opportunities for the students. Teams from CALSTATE EAST BAY COLLEGE from California and Lonestar College from Texas were invited to interact with the students. They were given an insight on the courses available, the fee structure and career opportunities that would help them create a bright future. Students enthusiastically interacted with the teams who patiently answered all their queries. Students were happy discussing about all that they could do in the future.
